With Xdebug v2.6.0, Copyright (c) 2002-2018, by Derick Rethans Zend Engine v3.1.0, Copyright (c) 1998-2018 Zend Technologies I have a CentOS environment with php 7.0.20 w/ xdebug 2.5.5 and a 7.1.8 w/o xdebug and neither exhibit this issue.
